Blue Tape and Markers were a SUCCESS!

The boys box masterpieces...4-year-olds also double as box compactors to make space for more clothes.

An organized closet(for a brief moment)                        Playing with mommy's shoes.
My closet looked nice and organized after all the boxes were packed...that is until the boys started playing with my shoes, and then came down the hangers(and what was left of my clothes) and up went the blue tape zip lines...always a mess, but they laughed the entire time.

The silver lining of a sore back, my stamina and their attention span are just about equal. I was actually really surprised that we got my whole closet done before the natives got restless and my muscles were screaming. Afterwards we came up with a new game called "bedbug monster" where two of us went to "sleep" while the third hid in the closet and then snuck up on the sleeping people and "bit" them. I was desperate to keep two energetic boys busy while resting my back...afterwards we popped popcorn and watched a movie in mommy's room(ok, so they watched, I snoozed...hehe!) In the end, my closet was a heap of tangled hangers, my bed was a mass of messed of blankets and popcorn kernels, and we had a great time without ever leaving mommy and daddy's room!

FIND A MOVING COMPANY...believe it or not, this is the first time I have had to do this. The only other move that we had the luxury of movers to help, my husband had to scramble to get while I was in the middle of  pulling up old floors and putting down new ones before the movers brought our stuff to our home. This time around, they need to be pretty much all-inclusive since I am not able to lift anything and my husband will be busy working and transitioning to his new job. Just wondering if we'll actually have a home to move into by the time all this occurs....

MOVING PROJECT: DAY 1

Today is the start of getting things organized and packed. My biggest obstacle, other than my back, is 2 very active very busy four year olds. SO, the idea is to get them involved while keeping them from unpacking everything. I bought them each their own roll of painters tape and have their bucket of crayons/markers ready for them to help decorate our moving boxes...wish me luck!!

For those of you that have moved with kids...what are your tricks?

I love to share them(and use them) here!

Messy Kids...Happy Kids! Rainy day jammie fun with washable markers. The boys and I had a blast making silly pictures on each other! The best part was watching their faces light up when they saw themselves in the mirror, well worth the mess!

Welcome to the Mess!

Welcome to mess, also known as life. I don't mean that as a negative, I mean that in a toys scattered on the floor, crumbs on the counter, nose-prints on the windows and a laundry pile that never ends....ever! As if life with twins and working from home is not busy enough, my family and I are about to move several states away, far from family, friends that we've known for years, ones that we call family and ones that we've watched grow alongside our own, to a new city where we will be starting all over. I wanted to start this blog now to chronicle this overwhelming journey as way to help keep the important stuff in check and leave the mess for another time. So the journey begins...as of today, my husband heads to work in 2 weeks in our new city, where we will join him in 1-2 months. During that time, I will be recovering from a couple of herniated/torn lumbar discs, selling a home, packing a home and running a business(with my Mom!)-who currently lives 3 hours from here...for now, and saying goodbye. I am writing this blog to distract myself from the overwhelming task ahead while laying in bed, unable to sit or walk for more that 10 minutes at any give time.
